What Makes This a Better Fitness Product?
The SportCord has several features that set it apart from the other elastic cord exercisers on the market. This is the original US-made product, not a cheap knock-off. Its interchangeable components are extremely durable and made for a lifetime of use. It also uses a bungee-type resistance cord rather than surgical rubber tubing. This type of cord provides a more effective progressive resistance, is far safer to use, and outlasts the cheaper competitors. Rehabilitation with the SportCord

In the early 1980's, physical therapist Topper Hagerman and athletic trainer John Atkins developed a mobile conditioning system for keeping the US Olympic Ski Team in shape while traveling. Not only did this new elastic exerciser prove to be effective for maintaining strength, but it also worked well for rehabilitating athletic injuries. The SportCord was quickly adopted by the prestigious Rehabilitation Performance Center (RPC) in Vail, CO, and is now used by nearly 100% of the patients they see for orthopedic rehab. A large percentage of this clinic's patients are athletes, and most of them take a SportCord with them when they leave. Thanks to the SportCord, RPC consistently achieves some of the best documented outcomes in orthopedic rehab.

Why NOT to Exercise with Rubber Tubing

There are several other elastic exercisers on the market, and nearly all of them use surgical rubber bands (e.g. Theraband®) or rubber tubing as their resistance source. The primary problem with that type of product is that the rubber begins to deteriorate within a couple months of use (and even faster if exposed to sunlight). As the rubber deteriorates, it develops microscopic cracks that substantially weaken the product, and can lead to sudden and unexpected rupture, often during use. In our opinion, this unexceptably increases your risk of injury when using that type of product.

In contrast to this, the SportCord uses bungee-type resistance cords. While this type of cord is more expensive to manufacture, it provides very distinct advantages, particularly in terms of safety. The tightly woven outer jacket of the SportCord's resistance cord prevents unexpected rupture, shields the inner cord from exposure to sunlight, and guards against overstretching the cord. These features help make the SportCord the safest, most durable, and longest lasting elastic exerciser.

As an added bonus, the outer jacket of the SportCord's resistance cords also prevents any rubber from making contact with your skin. This can be very important to the many people that suffer from latex rubber allergies.

Door Anchor
The Door Anchor is used to anchor one end of the SportCord to any door, column, or railing.

Resistance Cord
Each SportCord includes one or more Resistance Cords. Interchangeable Resistance Cords are available in four different force levels:

Red: extra-light resistance
Green: light resistance
Blue: medium resistance
Black: heavy resistance

Handles (one pair)
SportCord Handles are strong, but light weight, and include firmly cushioned grips.

Wide Adjustable Strap
The SportCord's Wide Adjustable Strap is used in place of a Handle on certain exercises, to comfortably and securely attach the SportCord to your wrist, arm, ankle, or thigh.

Waist Belt
The SportsCord's Waist Belt adjusts to any waist size. This accessory allows you to attach the SportCord to your waist or hips, for tethered running and various lunging and lateral movement exercises.

Mesh Tote Bag & Instructions
All SportCords include a durable Mesh Tote Bag, which provides a convenient way to store or transport your SportCord. And the illustrated instruction booklet provides an easy to follow guide to several basic SportCord exercises.
